Knysna Lagoon and Sunset Cruises

Our Knysna Sailing and Boat Cruises

The best way to experience the Knysna lagoon is by boat. From the vantage point aboard one of our beautiful catamaran cruises, you’ll be able to experience the natural beauty of the magnificent Knysna Lagoon and heads. The Knysna Lagoon is a marine protected area which is managed by SANParks. The Knysna Lagoon opens between two sandstone cliffs known as the Heads. Our day cruises depart from Thesen Island in Knysna, where our friendly captain and crew will meet you. From here on you can just unwind and savor the warm rays of the sun, sipp on a glass of bubbly or an ice cold beer, and enjoy the scenery. Spot our Marine Giants while tanning on trampolines, put out a line to see what bites, or take a snorkel at the Paquita wreck. We will cruise through the Knysna Heads and then venture into the Indian Ocean if the weather permits. On our way back we will drop anchor and enjoy delicious snacks, or even a BBQ should you wish. Enquire about our unique catering packages. We braai your catch of the day, or invite our chef onboard to cater for you. Our standard charters include light mezze platters, but we can customise each charter to suit your needs, anything from romantic dinners to a traditional braai on board.

When we are anchored there’s ample time for swimming, snorkeling and supping on our longer cruises. For the fishing enthusiast – Our boat is also fully equipped for fishing to access shallower areas in the lagoon for, where the famous kabeljou, grunter etc can be caught.

The Knysna lagoon is also home to the endangered Knysna Seahorse. The endangered species is South Africa’s only endemic seahorse that is exclusively found in estuaries of Knysna, Swartvlei and Keurbooms.
